In the News: Eagles of Death Metal to Top the Charts

We’ve all seen the headlines about the horrific events in Paris this past week. The most tragic took place in a concert hall during an Eagles of Death Metal show Friday night. The band, a California based rock band, has a large following in the U.K. and Europe. Following the events of Friday the 13th, during which one of their merchandise managers was killed, fans have started a social media based, grass-roots campaign to get their cover of Duran Duran’s Save a Prayer to the top of the U.K. Charts. The fan-led Facebook group has over 7,000 followers as of Monday morning. The goal according to the page is to “show solidarity against terrorism and support for peace.”

The song is currently 37 on the iTunes charts and 3 on Amazon. Charts close at 11:59 p.m. on November 19th.

Once again proving that music is potentially the only thing in the world that makes any sense anymore.
